Kevin Michael Weick was born on July 16, 1963 to parents Warren and Carol (Minahan) Weick in Slayton, MN. When he was little, he would refer to anything attached to a tractor as a "hook-it," and enjoyed pointing out the many things that were "hook-it's" to tractors. As a child, Kevin was a very neat and orderly person, always having the cleanest and most organized room amongst his siblings. This neatness and organization continued throughout his life. He was a 1981 graduate of the Graceville High School. Kevin was for many years a very dedicated long-haul over the road trucker for many firms, and had recently decided to spend more time closer to his family and loved ones.
Kevin enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors, especially hunting and trapping raccoons, skunks, and coyotes. He shared his love of the outdoors and the skills that he had learned with his nephews, particularly his late nephew Colby Simonson. Kevin also had a special love of dogs, often treating them as his own children. Very special to him was his girlfriend Jeannie's granddaughter, Nadia, who he treated as his own.
Kevin passed away Saturday, February 11, 2006 at his home in rural Graceville. Kevin was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and most recently by his nephew, Colby Simonson.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Warren and Carol Weick; girlfriend, Jeannie Weldon and her children, Nathan, Marcie, Jeffrey Weldon, and granddaughter Nadia Hernandez; sisters, Becky (John Schmidgall) Simonson of Morris, Wanda (Doug) Andrews of Maple Grove, and Theresa (Doug) Diekmann of Beardsley. He is also survived by nieces, Sarah, Kasey, Kelsey and Candace; and nephew, Andrew as well as many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
