Kevin Lynn Snoozy was born on May 2, 1967, in Watertown, SD, to Everette and Eloise (Lunning) Snoozy. He attended South Shore High School, graduating in 1985. After high school, Kevin stayed on the family ranch, working alongside his mother. Together, they bought and sold cattle until her retirement in 1988, after which Kevin continued in the cattle business for several years. While he had a soft spot for Hereford steers, his true passion was for Black Baldy Angus cattle. Kevin owned and operated the ranch until his death, dedicating his life to the land and his cattle.
Throughout his life, Kevin worked in various roles, including at Dakota Grains, Elshere Bulk and Spray, and Whitney Harvesting. He loved being outdoors, riding ATVs, tending to cattle, and meticulously mowing his yard, always keeping the lines straight.
Kevin was always ready for an adventure, especially when it involved heading to the Black Hills for a week of snowmobiling with friends. He also enjoyed ice fishing from his SnoBear, hoping to land the “Big One” on the frozen lakes. Known for his friendly nature, he cherished spending time with friends and making memories. Kevin was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. He was also dedicated to his community, serving as a firefighter and first responder with the South Shore Fire Department for many years. He was a long-standing member and head usher of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in South Shore.
Kevin is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Kathy Redlin of Watertown, SD; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; and a large circle of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Everette and Eloise; sister, Joyce Noeldner; brother, Keith Snoozy; and an infant sister and brother.
