Kevin Ray DeVries was born on January 25,1958, in Brookings, SD. He was the son of Allen and Adah (Quincey) DeVries. Kevin grew up in Sioux Falls, SD. He worked in landscaping for many years. He worked in Las Vegas, NV, at the Flamingo Hotel before moving to White, SD. He later moved to Livingston, MT, with his mother. His sister, Marcy moved him to Milbank where he worked at United Hardware and Dewey’s Landscaping. He suffered a massive stroke in 2006 which left him paralyzed. He resided at St. William’s Care Center until his passing.
Kevin enjoyed fishing, watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers, cooking, watching HGTV, and spending time with his daughter, Heather. He always shared an entire bag of tootsie rolls with her, right before supper. He was a proud grandpa to Mckinzie. Kevin loved to go to rummage sales. He had sizeable collection of western, Native American, and Harley Davidson memorabilia.
Kevin was blessed with wonderful caregivers following his stroke throughout the past 17 and a half years. He suffered tremendous pain yet he never lost his faith, he was ready to go to heaven. His family finds comfort in knowing that Kevin is pain free and walking again.
