Kenneth Hoberg

Kenny E. Hoberg was born on January 13, 1943 in Benson, MN to parents Alfred and Mabel (Anderson) Hoberg. Growing up on the family farm he was one of eleven children. As a boy he attended school in Benson, MN and graduated from Benson High School. Following graduation, Kenny attended Canby Technical School where he graduatedfour years later with a degree in dieselmechanics. After graduation, he worked for Collins Construction as a cabinet maker for a time before joining the United States Air Force. During his eight years in the Air Force, he achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant serving in Vietnam before being discharged. He then joined the Navy for three years receiving an honorable discharge.



Kenny met Margie (Hoffbeck) Fredrickson in Benson and the two were married on June 9, 1980 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN. Together they were parents to daughters Georganna and Charlene. Kenny and Margaret celebrated twenty-six wonderful and loving years together prior to his passing.



Kenny was always a devoted family man, not only to his daughters and grandchildren but also to his brothers and sisters. He loved to talk Norwegian with his brother, Donnie. In his spare time, he could always be found tinkering and working on cars and trucks. His sense of humor was well known to those who were taken in by his stories only to laugh when he revealed that it was a joke. Most of all, he was always there for anyone around him and put other people?s needs before his own.



Kenneth passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006, at the Ortonville Hospital in Ortonville, MN. Preceding him in death were his parents, Alfred and Mabel Hoberg; brother, Harry; sisters, Evelyn, Marian, and Beatrice; son-in-law, David; and brothers-in-law, Jim Bailey and Lyle Ascheman.



Kenny is survived by his wife, Margie Hoberg; daughters, Georganna (Chuck) Beavers and Charlene (Bill) Hynnek; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers, Albert (Monnie) Hoberg, Elmer (Gladys) Hoberg, Ray (Dorothy) Hoberg, Donnie (Virginia) Hoberg, and Floyd (Bonnie) Hoberg; sister, Shirley Bailey; brother-in-law, Donald Bennett; mother-in-law, Lilah Hoffbeck; sister-in-law, De (Dennis) Rudolph; his faithful dog, Max; as well as many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
