Kenneth Howard Hedge was born to Gilmer "Bud" and Ardell (Flack) Hedge on February 6, 1957, in Ortonville, MN. Kenny was baptized on March 10, 1957, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank and was confirmed in the Christian faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN. Kenneth attended school in Big Stone City, SD, until the eighth grade when he transferred to Ortonville schools where he graduated in 1976. After high school, Kenny began trucking with his father Bud running routes across the US.
Kenny worked for a couple different trucking companies but Hedge & Herberg Trucking was where he belonged. He worked there all throughout his life and enjoyed working with family and friends. The family owned business meant a lot to him and he made a lot of great friends there as well.
Kenny was blessed with three daughters: Annie, Katie and Chelsie.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville.
Kenny had a love for the outdoors; he liked to spend time hunting and fishing out in the boat. He would love to tell stories from being on the road and also of when he was young. His sense of humor was one of a kind.
When Kenny was home from trucking, he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his girls. He talked about them all the time to anyone he'd meet. They were his pride and joy and could do no wrong in his eyes. Each of the girls was given early driving lessons in his old pick-ups. One of his proudest moments was when he snuck two of his girls with him on the road. Trucking was what he loved and he was so proud to be good at it just like his dad.
Survivors include his three daughters: Annie Hedge of Ortonville, MN; Katie (Tony) Weber of Ortonville, MN; Chelsie Hedge of Ortonville, MN; brother Kevin "Chip" (Vicky) Hedge of Milbank, SD; uncle Gayle (Colleen) Hedge of Ortonville; aunt Gwendolyn "Babe" Hegge of Big Stone City, SD; aunt Ducky Crookston of Littleton, CO; aunt June J. Ziegler of Longmont, CO; aunt Lucille Erdahl and husband Gordon, Battle Ground, Washington; two nieces, one nephew and many friends.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Gilmer "Bud" and Ardell Hedge; paternal grandparents, Glen and Annie Hedge; and maternal grandparents, Howard and Edna Flack.
