John Stallman, 69, of Dumont, MN, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Sanford Wheaton Medical Center in Wheaton, MN.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 3:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Clinton Memorial Building in Clinton, MN.
John Leo Stallman was born on August 1, 1955, to John and Mary (Borgheiick) Stallman of Beardsley, MN. He was the eighth of ten children in the family. John was baptized and confirmed in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Beardsley. He grew up on the family farm, attended school in Beardsley, and graduated in 1973.
After graduation, John married Doreen, and they were blessed with two children: Trevor and Callie. Later in life, John and Bonnie had a son, Landon.
John worked at Big Stone Cheese Factory, the City of Clinton, Big Stone Ag, and Ronglien Excavating. He also enjoyed working with his brother Joe in the Carpenters Union. In addition, John was self-employed and operated a welding repair shop at his farm in Clinton, MN.
A man of many talents, John was always willing to lend a helping hand. He proudly served on the Clinton Fire Department for 15 years.
John enjoyed the outdoors, spending time hunting, fishing, grilling, and gardening. He cherished morning coffee with neighbors and socializing with friends and family. He had a deep love for music, especially Johnny Cash.
John is survived by his partner, Konni Wellnitz of Dumont, MN; his children: Trevor (Brandi) Stallman of Big Stone City, SD; Callie and Jim Schlieman and their children: Jackson and Lauren of Hickson, ND; Landon Stallman of Big Stone City, SD; brothers: Ted (Cheyrl) Stallman; Jim (Linda) Stallman; Bob (Joan) Stallman; Bill (Lil) Stallman; Don (Nancy) Stallman; Joe (Tammy) Stallman; Rick (Deb) Stallman; sister, Joanne (Bill) Gupka; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Mary Stallman; sister, Mary Ann Espelin; and nephew Cory Stallman.
