John Andrews

John Andrews, age 60 of Johnson, MN died October 15, 2014, in Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service. Reverend Eugene Andrus, from Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Johnson, will officiate and burial will be in the Graceville Consolidated Cemetery.

John was born on March 25, 1954, in Graceville, Minnesota, the son of Ralph and Mildred (Skoog) Andrews. He grew up in Johnson, attending school there through the sixth grade. He completed his education in Graceville, graduating in 1972. On March 5, 1978, John and Colleen Sullivan were united in marriage. To this union four children were born. They made their home in Graceville before moving to Johnson.

John farmed and drove truck. He was also employed at Hoffman Implement in Graceville for many years. He loved to work and never stopped! John was also passionate about rebuilding semi-trucks. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Johnson.

John loved visiting with people and especially loved the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren knew he would always have gummy worms waiting for them! He also enjoyed giving them ranger and tractor rides. Riding his Harley was a favorite pastime, as was traveling with Linda. Most people knew John by his nickname "Jigsaw". He was an avid fisherman, especially ice fishing. John had a heart of gold. He was always willing to help anyone, he had a smile that lit up the room. He could make anyone laugh, even if he wasn't trying.

John died on October 15, 2014, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the result of a vehicular accident. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jeremy (Alexis) Andrews of Graceville, MN; Shanna (Ken) Quist of Willmar, MN; Dustin Andrews of Sauk Rapids, MN; and Katie Andrews of Big Stone City, SD; grandchildren: Lahria, Rylynn, Laney, and Keltyn; special friend, Linda Taffe of Ortonville, MN; brother James (Mary) Andrews of Big Stone City, SD; sisters: Dianne (Glen) Reil of Howard Lake, MN; Karen Farley of Escondido, CA; and JoAnne Leuthardt of St. Joseph, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen, in 1994; and his parents.
