Jimmy Christian

Jimmy Christian, age 83, of Milbank, SD, died on May 2, 2019, at Milbank Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 6, at 10:30 a.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home. Pastor David Jones will officiate and burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, at the Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank and one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Monday.

Jimmy Christ Christian was born on May 20, 1935, in Milbank, SD.  He was the son of Christian W. J. Christian and Rose L. (Damerow) Christian.

Jimmy grew up in Milbank and graduated from Milbank High School with the Class of 1953. He served in the United States Army in Europe and returned to South Dakota following his discharge in 1954.  He was united in marriage with Phyllis Behlings in 1958.

Jimmy worked for nine years at Milbank Alfalfa Products, Inc. as plant manager and bookkeeper.  He worked for five years as a real estate salesman for Milbank Real Estate.  He was self employed for five years doing home maintenance; and worked for two years as a grain representative for National Farmers Organization.  Jimmy’s main career was farming and he was a lifetime farmer.

Jimmy is survived by three children: Marty (Agnes) Christian of Aberdeen, WA; Teresa (Terry) Bonnet of Newell, SD; and Julie (Ricky) Bolin of Milbank, SD; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Phyllis Henze of Milbank, SD.  Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; three children: Shelley, Paul, and Sarah; and one sister, Delores Oehler.
