Jerrod Elmer Swenson was born on November 27, 1974 to parents Eldred and Jeannine (Danielson) in Appleton, MN. Jerrod was baptized and confirmed at Eidskog Lutheran Church in rural Ortonville.
Jerrod grew up with his family on a farm east of Ortonville. He attended Ortonville Area Schools where he graduated from Ortonville High School in 1993. After high school, Jerrod attended one year of schooling at Ridgewater Technical School in Willmar, MN. In 1995, Jerrod began working for Hasslen’s Construction until 2009, when he took a job with Milbank House Movers.
On August 20, 2005, Jerrod was united in marriage to Jessica Jo Thymian at Zion Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN. To this marriage, they were blessed with one daughter, Haley, on February 13, 2007.
Jerrod enjoyed doing many things, including: hunting, ice fishing, mudding, gardening, working on his house, and carpentry work. Jerrod also enjoyed sports, playing football, baseball, and track and field. He was not afraid to try anything and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Jerrod died on August 29, 2010 at his home in rural Ortonville, MN. He had lived to reach the age of 35 years.
Jerrod is survived by his wife, Jessica of Ortonville; daughter Haley; parents: Eldred and Jeannie Swenson of Ortonville; 3 brothers: Corrie (Kathy) Swenson of Clara City, MN, Kendall (Mary) Swenson of Ham Lake, MN Travis (Missy) Swenson of Avon, MN; 1 sister LeAnn (Dale) Warren of Milaca, MN; mother-in-Law Jennifer Thymian of Johnston, IA; sister-in-law Natasha (Jeff) Hynnek of Ortonville, MN; brother-in-law Nicholas (Lacy) Thymian of Ortonville, MN; 5 nieces: Heather Swenson, Mandy (Jason) Johnson, Sara Warren, Laura Swenson, and Lexi Hynnek; 5 nephews: Brandon (Penny) Swenson, Justin Helgeson, Ross Swenson, Danny Swenson, and Isaac Hynnek; one great-niece Ava Swenson; two great-nephews Jackson Swenson and Benjamin Helgeson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jerrod is preceded in death by his grandparents, one nephew Christopher Swenson, and father-in-law Bill Thymian.
