Jay Stock

Jay Stock, age 52, of Ortonville, died on Monday, August 3, 2015, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A celebration of Jay's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville with Rev. Dennis O'Neill officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Odessa. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 7, at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday.

Honorary bearers include Joe Berning, Mike Swenson, Mark Hughes, Brad Rieck, Jerry Westman, and Mark Amundson.

Jay Cordell Stock was born on December 24, 1962, in Ortonville, Minnesota to Duane and Donna (Meyer) Stock. As a child, Jay grew up in Big Stone City, South Dakota and graduated from Ortonville High School. He then furthered his education at Moorhead State University, where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing. Following graduation, Jay moved to Burnsville, Minnesota where he was employed by Dart, managing five of their warehouses. In 2000, due to health concerns, Jay moved back to Ortonville.

In his spare time, Jay enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and bowling. When driving by his house, you would often see him working in his garden, doing yardwork or just plain horsing around. That's our Jay. Jay was a great friend who always had a smile on his face. That smile, along with his famous one-liners, brought a smile to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by many.

Left with his loving memory are his siblings: Randy Stock of Big Stone City, SD, and his children: Keegan Stock, Caitlin Stock, Bryn (Kelsey) Stock; Kris (Harlan) Tande of San Diego, CA and their children: Tara Tande, Brett Tande, and Tory Tande; and Cherie (Steve) Bauer of Fulda, MN; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Donna Stock; grandparents: Gustav and Dorthea Stock, and Arthur and Martha Meyer; sister, Debra Stock; brother, Danny Stock; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
