Janeen Ingber, age 72, of Big Stone City, SD, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Living Word Church in Milbank. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14, from 5-7pm at Mundwiler Funeral Home, and again one hour prior to the service at the church.  A prayer service will be at 5pm at the Tuesday visitation.  Pastor Melanie Reiners will officiate.

The service will be livestreamed and recorded and viewable below this obituary.

Janeen Marie Ingber was born on October 13, 1950, to Guy “Gene” and Cleo (Anderson) Mann in Watertown, SD.  The family moved to Milbank in 1956, where Janeen attended school.

On July 2, 1976, Janeen was united in marriage to Gary Ingber.  They were blessed with two children, Travis and Jessica.

Janeen’s career included 33 years of government service, ultimately retiring from the Department of Veterans Affairs in Minneapolis, MN.  Upon retirement, Janeen and Gary moved to Big Stone Lake to be closer to their parents.  Volunteering was very important to Janeen as she spent many hours assisting with the Shine Group and Hospice Foundation.

Janeen was an active member of Living Word Lutheran Church, where she was part of the Circle Bible Studies, Altar Guild, serving in the kitchen, and assisted with counting collections.

Janeen was a person who did not find wealth in material goods.  She found wealth in sentimental and handmade items, especially from her husband and grandkids.  She especially enjoyed singing “You are My Sunshine” with her grandkids.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, was an avid golfer, and was the first in her family to make a hole-in-one.

Janeen Ingber is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Travis (Cheryl) Ingber of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Jessica (Greg) McIntosh of Minnetrista, MN; four grandchildren: Abigail Ingber, Griffin McIntosh, Wyatt Ingber and Wesley Ingber; 2 brothers: Randy (Peg) Mann and Steven (Kim) Mann; and sister-in-law: Sheryl Mann.

Janeen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jeff.

In lieu of flowers, Janeen's family suggests giving a memorial to Hospice.
