Homer Jerome Bergseth was born on December 16, 1909, to parents Lars and Elizabeth (Johnson) Bergseth in Odessa, MN. Homer was baptized and confirmed at Eids Lutheran Church and was a member there until the dissolution of the church in 1962.
Homer attended country school until the 8th grade, when he began
farming. Homer continued to farm until his retirement, working for
other farmers as well as himself. Homer enjoyed playing bingo and bowling.
Homer died on Sunday, March 22, 2009 in Ortonville, MN at Northridge Residence having lived to reach the age of 99 years.
Homer is survived by 2 brothers: Edward Bergseth of Ortonville, Harold Bergseth of Ortonville; 3 sisters: Deloris Bergseth of Ortonville, Hazel Bergseth of Ortonville, and Muriel Olson of Alexandria, MN; nieces: Ethel (Garry) Swenson of Ortonville, Judy Roberts of Big Stone City, SD, Sherri Skorezewski of Aberdeen, SD, and Nancy (Galen) Jergenson of Alexandira, MN; and great nieces and nephews.
Homer in preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and five brothers.
