Following high school, he attended Southwest Minnesota State University, formerly, Southwest State College in Marshall, MN, and earned his bachelor’s degree in education with a focus on science and math.
Starting his first teaching job in Washington D.C., Greg later returned to Minnesota. He taught at Jasper High School, Edgerton Public High School, and finished his teaching career at Osakis High School. Always passionate about cooking and food, Greg often experimented with his recipes by adding different ingredients or changing ingredients all together. There wasn’t a food he wouldn’t try. His family would often say, “You must not have any taste buds.” or “You have a cast iron stomach.” For several years, Greg looked forward to celebrating his birthday with friends at Treasure Island Casino or Mystic Lake Casino for a buffet meal and some gambling. Greg was kind-hearted, lovable, respectful, always thankful, liked things that were unique which made him unique, and had a good sense of humor.
