Grace Goergen, age 84, of Ortonville died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Northridge Residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 26, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Ortonville with Father Jim Devorak celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the time of service at the church on Monday.
Grace Loretta Goergen was born on November 17, 1930, in Tintah, MN to Joseph and Agnes (Kosiak) Keller. She attended school in Tintah, and after graduation from Tintah High School, moved to Wheaton, MN. There she met George Joseph Goergen and the two were united in marriage on April 4, 1951 at Galls Catholic Church in Tintah. To this union, seven children were born. In 1963, the family moved to Ortonville and a year later purchased Hilltop Mobil, which they owned until 1974.
Grace loved crafts, quilting, and was an avid knitter. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and baking, especially her famous caramel rolls! Still, Grace's biggest passion in life came from her family, whom she adored spending time with. Grace was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Ortonville.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Thomas Goergen (significant other, Chris Stuber) of Bloomington, MN; Kathleen Taylor (significant other, Steve Kunze) of Ortonville; Daniel (Sandy) Goergen of Ortonville; Robert (Teresa) Goergen of Big Stone City; JoAnn (Mark) Hooser of Big Stone City; Pamela Goergen (significant other, Paul Jones) of Westbrook, MN; grandchildren: Joshua (Melissa) Goergen; Ruth (Kent) Orvik; Angela (Shawn) May; Joey (Susan) Taylor; Chad (Angie) Goergen; Liza (Ryan) Keller; Ryan (Michelle) Goergen; Shantelle (Nate) Roeshen; Cody Goergen; Taylor Goergen; Amanda Goergen (significant other, Alex Goodhart); Alex Goergen; Kelley (Scott) Anderson; Eric (Teri) Hooser; Greg Hooser; Brittania (Mike) Day; Andrew Warburton; Tristan Warburton (significant other, Emily Palmer); Ethan (Jessica) Warburton; Brooklyn Warburton (significant other, Jameson Rowl); 26 great-grandchildren; and many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and daughter, Lori Jean.
