Glenn Engebretson

Glenn Engebretson was born on February 17, 1939, on the family farm in Akron Township to parents, Edward Emil and Martha Mary (Struck) Engebretson. As a young boy, Glenn attended school in Ortonville and graduated from Ortonville High School in 1957. Following graduation, Glenn entered into the U. S. Army where he served for a number of years.
Upon his honorable discharge, Glenn returned to the Ortonville area where he worked as a truck driver for Gene Burdick. After a number of years driving truck, Glenn began working road construction where he ran the roller. Glenn retired in November of 2001. In the summer of 2002, Glenn and his sisters took a trip to Alaska to see other family. It was a trip he would always treasure.
In his younger years, Glenn enjoyed fishing and hunting. As he aged he enjoyed quiet time spent working on crossword puzzles and working on his coin collection. Glenn had a witty sense of humor and always had a one liner for every occasion. He truly loved his family and the special memories made during visits with them. He will be truly missed.
Glenn passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at his home in Ortonville, MN, reaching the age of 67 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roger, Benny, and Marvin; one sister, Betty; two brothers-in-law, Bennett Paffrath and James Radermacher; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Engebretson.
Glenn is survived by his sisters, Marlys Radermacher of Milbank, SD; Edna Paffrath of Ramsey, MN; Marion (Milnor) Larson of Fairbanks, AK; and Barbara Baker of Pasco, WA; one brother, Richard Engebretson of Fairbanks, AK; one sister-in-law, Rose Engebretson of Bird Island; as well as many, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
