Gertrude Pauline Stolpman was born on April 9, 1917, to John and Louise (Dols) Stolpman on a farm in Grant County, South Dakota. Gertrude was baptized, took first communion and was confirmed in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rosen, MN. As a young girl, Gertrude moved with her family to a farm northwest of Rosen. She attended school in District 40 and Bellingham and also St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rosen.
Gertrude worked at the Electric Maid Bakery and the Ortonville Hospital in the laundry department. On November 27, 1954, Gertrude was united in Marriage to Floyd Guse at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ortonville. They made their home in Ortonville.
Gertrude enjoyed sewing, embroidery, baking, and was a doll collector. She loved children, especially babies. She enjoyed spending time with Floyd, her nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Gertrude died on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Grace Home in Graceville, MN having lived to reach the age of 92 years.
Gertrude in survived by her husband Floyd and many nieces and nephews.
Gertrude is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Barbara Finken and Caroline Brott.
