Genevieve was born July 5, 1912, in Currie, MN, to John and Mary (Schindler) Reinart, the fourth of twelve children, one of nine girls. She left this world on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. She grew up in Fulda and then outside of Barry where her parents owned a farm. She went to nursing school at St. John's in Fargo, ND, and graduated at the top of her class. While caring for a young woman with a broken leg, she met the woman's brother, who came to visit every day. She was impressed by his devotion to his sister. He was Louis Kuhry. After he finished serving in the army during WWII, they married on June 11, 1945.
Louie and Gen made their home in Fargo where their five children were born. Genevieve worked as a hospital nurse and public health nurse when her children were older. She was a unique woman with a lively sense of humor and distinctive personality and was a loving mother and grandmother, known for her "schmoozling" (hugging and kissing). She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain family and friends around her dining table. For many, many years Genevieve spent several months every spring with her daughter Patty in CA, where she basked in the warm sunny weather and made many new friends.
After the death of her husband, Genevieve spent her last years in Graceville, MN, where her brother and several sisters were then residing. They enjoyed years together as good friends, and Genevieve continued to be warm and hospitable, renewing old friendships and making new ones. When she made the final move to Grace Home in December 2010 she was embraced by her caregivers due to her kind heart and sharp sense of humor. Mother was unendingly grateful for the affectionate care she received.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary, her husband Louis J. Kuhry, son David Kuhry, son-in-law Hector Zeller, MD, and ten of her eleven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by Mary Wroblewski (Joe)of Bloonington, MN, Louis Kuhry (Sara)of Glyndon, MN, Janis Zeller of Hastings, MN, and Patricia Kuhry of Carmichael, CA; grandchildren Jesse, Matthew (Darcy) and Adam Wroblewski, and Lea Kuhry and David Kuhry, four step-grandchildren, Jeanie, Pamela, Alejandro and Andres and their families; sister Veronica Anderson; brother-in-law Leonard Marihart, and many wonderful nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
The family wishes to express its deep gratitude for the kind and loving care Mother received at Grace Home in Graceville, MN. Memorials preferred to Holy Rosary Church in Genevieve's name.
