Genevieve Beier

Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home of Browns Valley announce Funeral Services for Genevieve Beier, which will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012, at United Methodist Church in Beardsley, MN. The Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Beardsley is no longer open. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Reverend Paul Warnier will officiate and burial will be in the Cohasset Cemetery at a later date.

Genevieve was born on June 16, 1915, to parents Michael and Christine (Gauer) Lucas in Beardsley, MN. She grew up in Beardsley and attended the Beardsley Elementary and High School until the eleventh grade. Genevieve was united in marriage to Lawrence Beier on September 30, 1935 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Beardsley with Pastor Englehardt officiating.

Larry and Gen moved to Blackduck, MN in 1949 and were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aide. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

They moved to Aurora, CO in 1965. After retiring in 1977 they moved back to Beardsley.

Cooking and baking were Gen's favorites. She also enjoyed golfing, sewing, gardening, crafts, crocheting and bowling. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them.

Gen passed away on September 28, 2012, having reached the age of 97 years, and just shy of her and Larry's 77th wedding anniversary.

Genevieve Beier is survived by her husband, Larry, of Browns Valley, MN; her children: Dale (Karen) Beier of Brighton, CO; Eileen (Richard) Figenser of Bennett, CO; Sandra (Corky) Workman of Rice, MN; and her siblings: Lawrence (Pat) Lucas, Duane (Pat) Lucas, and Laverne (Betty) Lucas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21great grand children and 5 great great grandchildren.

Genevieve is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard; her daughter, Sharron Kilde; one granddaughter, Mia Beier-Zima five sisters; and one brother.
