Floradeen Drewelow

Floradeen Drewelow, age 91, of Graceville, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Essentia Health – Grace Home.

Funeral services will be on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Graceville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Reverend Donald Main will officiate the service and burial will be at Graceville Consolidated Cemetery.

Floradeen Jane (Arndt) Drewelow was born on December 19, 1932, in Graceville, MN, to Martin and Mary (LaPointe) Arndt. She grew up on a farm in rural Beardsley, MN, with her three brothers and five sisters. She attended country school through eighth grade. One of her main jobs to help out her family was to do the baking. She mastered the art, never using a recipe when making cookies, pies, breads, and rolls.

On May 2, 1953, Floradeen was united in marriage with John W. Drewelow at Holden Lutheran Church in rural Beardsley. To this union, four children were born: Deborah, John Jr., Dawn, and DeAnn.

After several years farming, John and Floradeen moved to Graceville to start their insurance business. When Floradeen was not busy with the house or with the children, her favorite activities were walking and golfing. When they retired, Floradeen was able to do these pastimes year-round, as they spent winters in Florida or Arizona. However, she kept her family as a priority, always refusing to miss Christmas in Minnesota with her children and grandchildren. Holiday memories of her famous oyster stew, ham sandwiches, homemade ice cream, and hot fudge will be cherished by her family.

Floradeen leaves behind her children: Deborah (Donald) Pullis of Graceville, MN; John Jr. (Kathy) Drewelow of Graceville, MN; Dawn Drewelow of Willmar, MN;  and DeAnn (Gary) Behrens of Wheaton, MN; grandchildren: Craig (Stacey) Pullis, Carissa Green, Elisia Drewelow, Tanner Drewelow, Jason (Ana) Dresch, Angel Dresch, Jordan Dresch, Stephanie (Tyler) BehrensBerg, Garrett (Paige) Behrens, and Carter Behrens; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters: Gladys Paulson of Ortonville, MN; and Marlene Rau of Coon Rapids, MN; sisters-in-law: Lois Arndt of Osakis, MN; and Dianne While of Gillette, WY; brother-in-law, James Drewelow of Fergus Falls, MN; and a large extended family.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 66 years, John; her parents, Mary and Martin Arndt; brothers: Merlin, Marvin, and Martin Ray Arndt; and sisters: Anna Mae Schneider, Violet Nelson, Mary Ann Arndt, and Darlene Colvin.
