Faith Sprung

April 10, 1911 — July 8, 2005

Faith Hope was born in Big Stone Township, Grant County, South Dakota on April 10, 1911, to Roland and Meade (Clevidence) Evers. She was one of five children born to Roland and Meade.



On December 1st, 1936 she married William E. Sprung at her parents' home in Grant County, South Dakota. Faith and William celebrated forty-three years of marriage before his death in 1980. To this union was born three children; Carol, Dean, and David.



Upon graduating high school from Big Stone City in 1929, Faith went on to Northern Teacher College and received her teaching certification. She taught in a country school for several years until her marriage. Faith continued to teach Sunday school for more than fifty years with her home church, Tabor United Methodist Church.



She pursued many hobbies throughout her life. Faith enjoyed sewing and quilting in addition to reading and gardening. One of her favorite pastimes was playing card games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always happy to have company visit or go for a ride through the country. Faith was always very young at heart and never considered herself to be old, even in her later years.



Faith accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age, and lived her Christian faith until her death. She regularly prayed for her family and friends. Faith belonged to the Missionary Society and the United Methodist Women as well as the 4-H Leaders.



Faith is survived by her daughter; Carol (Dennis) Dragt, and two sons; Dean (Antoinette) Sprung, and David (Sharon) Sprung; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Gail Johnson.



Faith is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters; Ruth Zemple and two infant sisters, and one brother; Dan Evers.
