Evelyn Viola Mae Horman was born on April 02, 1907, to Fred and Lydia Horman of Agassiz Township. She was baptized in the Yellowbank Evangelical Church. She and her younger sister, Marlas, grew up on the Horman family homestead. Their mother passed away when Evelyn was 12 years old. Her dad was a wonderful father and raised their girls with love and care. Evelyn married Holger Larsen on April 19, 1923. They had four children, Lorraine, Roger, Beverly, and Judell.
Evelyn lived in various towns in the area, including Bellingham, Odessa, and Ortonville. Due to illness she entered Northridge Residence on September 27, 1999. She spent her last years there very happy, thanks to the kind and loving care of the staff at Northridge. Evelyn enjoyed her room mates Florance Trapp, Wanda Homrighausen, and Clara Heins.
Evelyn was very active in church work as long as she was able. She taught Sunday School for a number of years. She had her turn as President of the Ladies Aide. She also belonged o the Bellingham Home Makers Club as long as she lived there. Evelyn loved company and entertaining. She was a good cook and excellent baker. The coffee pot was always on for anyone who stopped by.
On Monday, October 10, 2005 Evelyn Larsen passed away at Northridge Residence, reaching the age of 98 years, 6 months and 8 days.
Evelyn loved her grandchildren and spoiled each one of them in her own special way. Each one of them has their memories of her to cherish. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Proceeding Evelyn in death was her husband, Holger; son Roger; daughters Judell and Beverly; her only sister, Marlas Jensen; granddaughter Rebecca Larsen Zimin and great granddaughter Rebecca Rucker.
Surviving are her daughter Lorraine and husband Leo Smith; daughter-in-law Alice Stolpman; two son-in-laws James Richard and Gus Pestia.
