Emily Morrison

Emily Louise Morrison, age 81, of Milbank passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at St. Williams Care Center in Milbank.

Memorial Services for Emily Morrison will be 3:00pm, Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Mundwiler Funeral Home, Milbank, with Rev. Dr. DeVern Schwenn officiating.

Emily Louise Morrison, daughter of George and Erma (Holmes) Minder, was born October 24, 1931, in Wilmot, South Dakota. She grew up in Wilmot and attended and graduated from Wilmot High School. Emily then attended Aberdeen Teachers College for two years. She taught school in Minneapolis for one year.

Emily married Clifford Morrison on July 6, 1952. Clifford was in the military at the time and they made their home in Louisiana. Upon discharge they moved to Twin Brooks, South Dakota and later to Stockholm. They farmed and were blessed with two children, George and Ann.

Emily enjoyed baking, quilting, sewing, crafts, flower and vegetable gardening, canning and animals.

Emily moved to St. Williams Care Center in April of 2012. Emily left this life to return to her heavenly home March 1, 2013, having reached the age of 81.


She is survived by her son, George (Sandy) of Goodwin, SD; her daughter Ann Trapp of Benson, MN; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Terrel (Morrison) and husband Rob Mielitz and their son, Kristoffer all of Sioux Falls, SD; Sara (Trapp) and husband Kyle Schweer and their children: Kesha, Hunter, and Estelle all of Milbank, SD; Jessica (Trapp) and husband James Backman of Morris, MN; Tonya (Dewayne) Chapeelaine; and Katie (Chad) Hitzeman; her two sisters: Ada Sautter of Princeton, MN, and Marilyn Woitte of Seattle, WA; and one brother, Dean Minder of Mitchell, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; George and Erma; husband, Clifford; sisters: Barb and Lois; and brother, George Jr.
