Elvin was born on January 25, 1915, to Edna (Reynolds) and Glenn Randall, near Clinton, MN. He served his country with a short term in the U.S. Navy and in the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp). He met Alviera Robertson from Artichoke and they were married November 2, 1946. He farmed in Malta and Otrey townships and took great pride in the care of his animals and farmstead. After more than thirty years on the farm, Elvin and Alviera retired to town, living in Clinton, Ortonville and Appleton, before moving back to Ortonville in 2004. Elvin loved playing checkers, carpentry work, traveling to Texas each winter, and enjoying his family and friends. He will be missed by many friends in the area, especially by those in Northridge Residence where he lived for the past two and a half years and also by his church family at Abiding Faith Free Lutheran Church where he was a charter member.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Alviera; three children, Vera Randall and husband Davey Hulse of Salem, OR, Jean and Lynn Georgius of Portsmouth, NH, Rob and Kathy Randall of Ortonville; grandchildren, Darah Hulse and husband John Gillette with great-granddaughter, Guthrie, Jennifer and John Georgius, Jill Randall and Ross Randall; sister-in-law Mavis Randall, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Penny and Howard Sitter; brother-in-law Leonard Stanley; sister-in-law Freda Robertson and many nieces and nephews.
