Elmer Jensen

October 19, 1919 — March 23, 2008

Elmer H. Jensen was born in Big Stone County, MN, on October 11, 1919, to Jens and Amelia (Blessing) Jensen. Elmer passed away on March 23, 2008 at Northridge Residence in Ortonville, MN. Don Williams will be officiating; pallbearers will be Philip Peterson, Dennis Larson, Stewart Steen, Doug Arens, Wallace Sayles. Music will be provided by Marilyn Botker and Amelia Propp. Military rites will be provided by Campbell-Williams American Legion Post #258 of Clinton, MN.





Elmer graduated from Clinton High School and was employed by several area farmers before being drafted into World War II. Elmer served his country in the Army Air Corps as a Control Tower Technician. Following WW II, Elmer moved to Rockford, IL, where he became a journeyman brick layer. On retirement, Elmer spent his summers in Rockford and wintered in Southern Texas. He spent his later years living in an apartment in Clinton before moving to the Clinton Care Center. He was a skilled wood worker and metal craftsman, making model tractors, airplanes, yard ornaments and miniature metal furniture out of steel and aluminum cans.



Elmer is survived by one brother, Oliver (Lois) Jensen of Chokio, MN; two sisters, Ruth of Hot Springs, AR, and Pauline Redfield of Mesa, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. Elmer is preceded in death by his sisters, Josephine, Marie, Margaret and Kathryn; two brothers, Kenneth and Leonard
