Elizabeth Vold

April 6, 1911 — March 6, 2005

Elizabeth Muriel Haney was born on April 6, 1911, to parents, Thomas and Elizabeth (Curley) Haney, in Graceville, MN. She attended school at Holy Rosary Academy in Graceville, MN.



Following graduation from High School, Muriel met and married Hans Vold in Wheaton, MN, in 1929. To this union four sons; Robert, Irvin, Kenneth, and Richard; and one daughter, Janet were born. Muriel and Hans lived and farmed in Traverse county until Hans' death in 1980. Ten years later Muriel moved into Grace Home in Graceville, MN. She enjoyed working with the land and reaping its benefits from farming with her husband to growing her garden. Muriel also enjoyed shopping and looking for antiques. She belonged to the Homemakers Club and treasured the friendships she made with the other women in the group. Muriel also cherished her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.



Elizabeth died on Sunday, March 6, 2005, at the Holy Trinity Hospital in Graceville, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hans; two sons, Robert and Kenneth; two brothers; three sisters; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.



She is survived by two sons, Irvin (Dorothy) Vold and Richard (Irene) Vold; a daughter, Janet (Karl) Keiffer; one daughter-in-law, Sharon; one sister, Marcella Kinzel; twenty-three grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; as well as many other extended family and friends.
