Eli Haas

February 10, 1979 — January 31, 2005

Eli Adam Haas was born on February 10, 1979, to parents, Thomas and Catherine (Johnson) Haas, in Montevideo, MN. Eli lived and grew up in Odessa, MN. At a young age, he lost his father, whom he loved dearly but Eli carried on with life. Eli was a fun loving and carefree person. He always had a smile on his face, making you wonder what he was up to. He had many friends growing up. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being with friends. He especially loved his "Chevy" trucks. While living in Odessa, Eli worked for Ellingsons, Pepsi Co, and Hasslen Construction.

Eli attended Ortonville schools, graduating in 1997. Following graduation he moved to the "cities" where he attended Century College for mortuary science. While in college Eli worked for Menards, where he made deliveries. After a diving accident that left him paralyzed he resided at an assisted living apartment in Champlin, MN. Eli loved watching sports, especially NASCAR. When NASCAR was on, you did not call, or if you were there you did not talk. He never missed it! Micah, Eli's brother-in-law, spent many Sundays with Eli enjoying the race or the football game on the TV. Eli became very good friends with Brandon and Don, both residents at the assisted living apartments. They spent many hours together daily. When Brandon passed away, Eli took it very hard. Don and Eli stuck together as best friends do.

Eli loved his nieces and nephew and the time he spent with them when they visited. He was very close to his aunt Chris who was very good to him. He loved his mother, idled his brother, and respected his sister. We were blessed to have shared our lives and love with him. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Eli passed away on Monday, January 31, 2005, at his home in Champlin, MN. He had reached the age of 25. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Haas; grandparents, and one uncle. He is survived by his mother Catherine and her husband Steven Teske of Odessa, MN; brother Jason (Amy) Haas of Odessa, MN; sister, Heidi (Micah) Raffety of Anoka, MN; step brothers, Ethan and Cody Teske of Odessa, MN; one nephew, Austin Haas; two nieces, Ashley Haas and Reggi Raffety; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
