Edna Kamin

Funeral services for Edna Kamin will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville. Pastor Peter Gluedner will be officiating and burial will be at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.

Edna Hilda Bakeberg was born on November 3, 1917 in Big Stone County to parents Henry and Lydia (Steffen) Bakeberg. Edna was baptized and confirmed into her faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odessa. Edna grew up in Ortonville where she attended country school until the eighth grade.

On November 21, 1938, Edna was united in marriage to August Kamin. To this union, they were blessed with one daughter, Arlyss. They made their home in Ortonville where Edna worked at the King Koin Laundromat for over 30 years.

Edna enjoyed dancing and volunteering at the Senior Citizen Center in Ortonville.

Edna died on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Fairway View Assisted Living in Ortonville; she had lived to reach the age of 93 years.

Edna is survived by her sister Verna (William) Beyer of Sartell, MN and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Edna is preceded in death by her daughter, Arlyss Kamin; husband August; her parents; 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville is in charge of arrangements.
