Dorothy M. Arndt was born on May 23, 1928, to parents, Arthur Jr. and Ruth May (McFarlane) Arndt, on a farm near Clinton, MN. She attended country school near Clinton.
On March 28th, 1965, Dorothy married Walter Pederson in Milbank, SD. The couple lived in a variety of places including Alaska, Brainerd, MN, Appleton, MN, and Arizona, before making Ortonville their permanent home. Dorothy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her nine children. One of her favorite memories was the family reunion they had in 1993 when all nine of her children were present. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed gardening and making crafts. Before Walter passed away in 1985, the couple cherished going to dances. A special friend of Dorothy was her dog "Muffy," and she also loved to play Bingo. Dorothy was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Appleton, MN, as well as a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Ortonville.
Dorothy passed away Sunday, April 24, 2005, at her home in Ortonville, MN. She had reached the age of 76. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; one sister, DeEtta; a granddaughter Kaye; and a daughter-in-law Lorri.
She is survived by her nine children; Gerald (Linda)Saulsbury of Las Vegas, NV; Bennett Saulsbury of Kingman, AZ; Betty (Kenny) Arnott of Bellingham, WA; Glenda (Frank) Brown of St. Paul, MN; Kelly (Janet) Saulsbury of Seattle, WA; Gail Olson of Ortonville, MN; Gary (Lynn) Gutzman of Atoka, TN; Patty Rieck of Dawson, MN; and Phylis (Rich) Adolph of Hazel Run, MN; one brother Sonny (Mary) Arndt of Ortonville, MN; three sisters, Loretta Shannon of Bethel, MN; Shirley (Don) Goslar of Ghent, MN; and Marlys Olson of St. Paul, MN; twenty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, a special friend Nadine Villella; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
