Doris Jeanne (Deyo) Beumer was born on February 21, 1930 in Clear Lake, South Dakota, to parents, Ted and Helen (Duehr) Deyo. As a young girl, the family moved to Browns Valley, MN, where she attended school. Doris graduated from Browns Valley High School in 1948 and married Robert Beumer on December 4, 1948, at the Presbyterian Church in Browns Valley, MN.
Doris and Bob worked side by side on their farm south of Browns Valley, where they were blessed with three children, Scott, Randy, and Terry.
Doris' love of the Lord and love for family were the foundation of her life. She taught 7th and 8th grade Sunday School for many years and was involved in the UMPW and Presbyterian Women, studying the scriptures, quilting, and always willing to serve wherever needed. She made quilts for her students and many others. Doris treasured the smiles on the faces of those she gave to. Doris was a wonderful cook and baked delicious caramel rolls and pies of every variety. She loved life on the farm and took great pride in her flowers and large vegetable gardens, always sharing with others. She enjoyed singing in the Browns Valley Community Choir for a number of years as well. Her beautiful eyes and smile and her caring and generous nature will be missed by those who loved her and called her friend.
Doris passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at her home near Browns Valley, MN, reaching the age of 76 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Helen.
