Donovan Tesch

Donavan Tesch, age 85, of Clinton died on December 2, 2013. Services will be held on Saturday, December 7, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley, Minnesota. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home - Moberg Chapel in Clinton with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Reverend Paul Warnier will officiate with burial at Midway Cemetery.

Donavan Eugene Tesch was born on March 27, 1928, in Hennepin County, Minnesota to Leonard and Rose Tesch. He was raised by Gus and Emma Bion on a farm near Beardsley. Donavan attended the Big Stone County Schools. He left to work in Blue Earth, Minnesota at a canning factory but returned home to farm the Bion farm.

On June 3, 1948, Donavan and Dorothy ( Folkens) were united in marriage at the Zion parsonage in Browns Valley, MN. They were blessed with one son, Eugene. Donavan and Dorothy made the family farm their lifelong home. Along with farming, Donavan sold Jacques Seed Corn.

Donavan was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he served on the board. He also served on the Foster Township Board and the Midway Cemetery Board.

Donavan had many hobbies which included fishing, camping, attending auctions, snowmobiling and farming with Floyd Kellen. He enjoyed going out to eat and playing card and board games. Donavan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Cherishing his memory is his wife, Dorothy of Clinton, MN; son Eugene (Joyce) Tesch of Dresser, WI; grandchildren: Amy (Donnie) Eilers, Don (Molly) Tesch, Lee (Michelle) Tesch, Katie Connors, Kim Tesch, Leonard Tesch, and Kristina Tesch; 12 great-granchildren; 2 half brothers: Michael and Sheldon Tesch, both of Elmore, MN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
