Donald Henrichs
June 3, 1929 - April 25, 2004
Funeral services for Donald Henrichs, age 74, of Ortonville, MN will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, MN. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the church. Visitation will continue one-hour prior the service at the church. Interment will be at the Clinton City Cemetery.
Donald was born on June 3, 1929 in Moonshine Township to August and Cora (Mann) Henrichs. Donald graduated from the Clinton High School in 1949. After graduation, Donald engaged in family farming. In 1954, Donald moved to St. Paul, MN where he started his career in bartending. He then returned back to Clinton in 1969 where he was the manager of the Clinton Liquor Store and worked at Clinton Coop. In 1982 he moved to Ortonville, MN where he owned and operated Don's Lawn & Garden Service. He was also employed at the Big Stone Liquor Store and worked at the Ortonville VFW until his death. Donald always kept the dance floor ready for the Sunday Night Dances at the Matador.
On April 25, 2004 Donald passed away in Ortonville, MN, reaching the age of 74 years, 10 months, and 21 days.
Don enjoyed playing baseball, softball, bowling, hunting, and of course dancing. He also umpired for many years and was very active in his grandchildren's activities. Don was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, and was an Ortonville Moose Lodge #407 member. His great sense of humor and jokes will be missed by all.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, August and Cora Henrichs; nephew, Gary Nelson; and brother-in-law, Ted Nelson.
Survivors include his three children, Robin (Jerry) Bergeron of Rowlett, TX, Steve (Val) Henrichs of Ortonville, MN, and Jami (Scott) Bohlman of Correll, MN; two sisters, Betty Nelson of Clinton, MN and Mavis (Stewart) Steen of Clinton, MN; four grandchildren, Jessica Henrichs, Jake Henrichs, Jordan Bohlman and Braden Bohlman; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Maxine "Cookie" Pew.
