Dellas Magedanz

Dellas Magedanz, age 85, died on July 27, 2015, at the Ortonville Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville with Rev. Dennis O'Neill officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday.

Casket bearers will be Dellas' grandchildren: Rachel (Torgerson) Lahlum, Anna Torgerson, Lucas Seehafer, Katelyn Seehafer, Nathan Seehafer, Emily Weber, Abby Weber, and Andrew Weber.

Dellas Loraine Magedanz was born on January 22, 1930, in Madison, MN, to Fred and Sophie (Loeslie) Abramowski. She was baptized on February 16, 1930, and confirmed on June 14, 1942, at Zion Lutheran Church, Arena Township, Minnesota. Dellas grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison High School. After high school, she attended teachers training and taught country school before marriage.

On June 15, 1952, Dellas was united in marriage with Orrin Steward Magedanz. To this union, three daughters were born. After marriage, Dellas and Orrin moved to a farm east of Clinton, MN. After Orrin's death in 1989, Dellas remained on the farm until 1994 when she relocated to Ortonville.

A member of Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Clinton and Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville, Dellas was a devoted and faith-filled woman. Church was a very important part of Dellas' life and she was active in various church groups. She also had the pleasure of teaching Sunday school for many years and enjoyed attending Bible study.

Dellas enjoyed gardening and watching birds. She was a great baker and her children fondly remember coming home regularly to freshly baked cinnamon rolls. In her younger years, Dellas loved to go dancing with Orrin and they rarely missed a Saturday night out. She was also a very talented quilter and loved making quilts. Most important to Dellas was her family and she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.

Left with her loving memory are her children: Beth (Dale) Torgerson of Stacy, MN; Ardie (Jeff) Seehafer of Winthrop, MN; and Mary (Mark) Weber of Bellingham, MN; eight grandchildren: Rachel (Nick) Lahlum, Anna Torgerson, Lucas Seehafer, Katelyn Seehafer, Nathan Seehafer, Emily Weber, Abby Weber, and Andrew Weber; brother, Roger (Joanne) Abramowski of Madison, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Dellas was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orrin Magedanz on December 9, 1989; brother, LeRoy Abramowski; and nephew, Glenn Abramowski.
