Dean C. Olson was born on January 09,1953, to parents LeRoy and Doris (Frederick) Olson in Appleton, MN. He attended school in Appleton and graduated in 1970. Following graduation, Dean entered the Air Force where he served his country from 1972-1976.
Dean married Kitt Henkleman in Correll, MN. To this union two daughters, Chastity and Cassandra, and one son, Curtis were born. Over the years, Dean had been a mechanic in Benson and Ortonville. He also owned the Olson Toys, Gifts & Hobbies Shop in Ortonville. He spent 20 years working at Cold Spring Quarry as well.
In May 2000, Dean was united in marriage with Lori (Eddy) in Ortonville, MN. Dean was a long time resident of Ortonville, just recently moving to Beaverton, Oregon. He enjoyed working with wood and making many craft items for family and friends. He also cherished the time he spent writing poems, even publishing a few. Dean adored his grandchildren and loved to spend time with his children.
Dean passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at Beaverton Hospital in Oregon.
Survivors include his son Curtis Olson of Appleton, MN; two daughters, Chastity (Jim) Glomstad and grandchildren Tabitha and Tiffany of Big Stone City, SD and Cassandra (Mike) Oslund and grandchildren Cody and Taylor of Webster, SD; one son Curtis Olson; three brothers, Larry (Vicki) Olson of Hazel, SD, Kevin Olson of Minneapolis, MN, Tim (Cindy) Olson of Milbank, SD; and one sister, Lori (Kelly) Somerville of Svea, MN; his parents LeRoy and Doris Olson as well as four grandchildren.
