David Paysen

Memorial services for David Paysen, age 59, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the Mundwiler Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Andrew Bartel will officiate.

David Wayne Paysen was born on May 8, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas to James Z. and Martha E. (Miller) Paysen. He graduated from Wichita Heights High School in 1972. On March 10, 1973, David and Jayne Lynch were united in marriage and to this union three children were born. David and Jayne started married life in Wheaton, Minnesota, and eventually settled in Wilmot, South Dakota, where they raised Michael, Cassie and Matthew.

David worked alongside his father in the bee keeping business for many years. As his sons were growing up he enjoyed teaching them all he knew about the business and loved having them with him in the bee yards.

David was extremely proud of his three children and adored his ten grandchildren. His whole life was centered on his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking, and just being with his family. He was the BEST grandpa and always made his grandchildren laugh!

David had a very big heart and loved to help others. We will forever love and miss him and are grateful for all the beautiful memories he left behind.

David is survived by his wife Jayne of Milbank, SD; children: Michael (Jessi) Paysen of Aberdeen SD; Cassie (Erik) Wuestewald of Aberdeen, SD; and Matthew (Amber) Paysen of Milbank, SD; ten grandchildren: Taylor Paysen, Curtis Paysen, Melissa Paysen, Madison Gill, Ethan Paysen, Logan Paysen, Hunter Paysen, Bella Gill, Mya Paysen, and Lylah Wuestewald; father James (Adelaide) Paysen of Menlo Park, CA; and sisters: Susie Mueller of Gladstone, MO; and Sally (Edwin) Southern of Wichita, KS.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Paysen; and his brother, James "Mike" Paysen.
