Darcel Jo Kashmark age 53 of Clinton, MN, formerly of Moorhead MN, passed away on January 27, 2022.
Darcel “Darcy” was born December 21, 1968, to Gene and Dolores (Arndt) Kashmark at Holy Trinity Hospital in Graceville, Minnesota. She attended Clinton Elementary and High School and was a member of the first graduating class of Clinton-Graceville High School in 1987. She furthered her education at NDSU studying Veterinary Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science and Zoology.
In her younger years she worked at the Clinton Nursing Home, Wheaton Gazette and the Animal Humane Society of North Dakota. She was a dedicated animal advocate and was a volunteer at many animal rescues throughout her life. Her love of animals was unmatched…especially for cats. Her “fur babies” were her life and she had an intense bond with those she cared for; taking pride in giving them the best life possible. Darcy was also passionate about music and genealogy, staying active in several genealogy communities, building detailed family trees and researching the history behind them.
Darcy was diagnosed with cancer her senior year of high school and spent the majority of that year at the University of Minnesota receiving treatments. Her extremely aggressive cancer treatments left her with many physical disabilities and ongoing health complications which she bravely fought the rest of her life. Battling with frequent medical hardships may be what many knew of her, but it was her strength and determination to overcome them while finding joy in the people and things she loved that truly defined her.
Darcy is survived by her mother Dolores Kashmark of Waters Edge in Clinton, MN; siblings: Denise (Roger) Lofgren of Rochester, MN, Doreen (Wayne Boogaard) Stallman of Clinton, MN, Brett (Charlotte) Kashmark of Detroit Lakes, MN, Jaylea (Paul) Ramnarine of Plymouth, MN; nieces and nephews, Kristopher (Rebecca), Garrett, Trevor (Brandi), Callie (Jim), Jessica (Adam), Dustin, Heather (Andy), Nick, Drew and Rachel; and grandnieces and nephews: Jackson, Lauren and Greyson.
Darcy was preceded in death by her father Eugene “Gene” Kashmark; paternal grandparents Stephen and Virginia Kashmark; and maternal grandparents John and Iona Arndt.
In honoring Darcy’s wishes, there will be no funeral services and a private burial will take place at a later date.
