Dale Klodt

Dale Allen “George” Klodt was born on January 29, 1958 to parents Dale M. and Faye (Mundy-Roark) Klodt. He attended school in Browns Valley, graduating with the class of 1976. He was united in marriage to Marie Therese Remily on August 5, 1978. To this union, five sons were born: Jered, Andrew, Jacob, Lucas and Joseph.



George started to drive a live fish truck before he even had a license for Dick Reed of Browns Valley. George lived and worked in many different places, including: Watertown, SD where he drove a ready mix cement truck, Renville and Danube, MN where he drove a sugar beet truck and Waite Park, MN where he also drove truck. They moved to Casper, Wyoming where George drove a gas truck, this is also where they made their home for 16 years, when they moved back to Beardsley in 1995.



George drove for Long Haul Trucking out of Albertville, MN for many years. He earned many awards for being Top Driver; which is the most miles driven in a year. He was also the recipient of many safety awards.



George loved his truck. He had a new truck every few years and when he traded them off, one couldn’t tell that anyone had ever even driven them; he was meticulous about cleaning them and servicing them. He was a very hard working man and he taught his children to work hard as well. He was extremely proud of his boys and was proud of them for joining the Air Force. He was a loving husband; he enjoyed entertaining his aunts and uncles at their farm in Beardsley. In 2007, George and Marie, bought “George’s Bar” in Beardsley.



In July of 2009, George was diagnosed with lung cancer and fought it courageously until he died peacefully at his home on June 16, 2010.



George is Survived by his wife of almost 32 years: Marie of Beardsley, MN; children: Jered (Nicole) of Aurora, CO, Andrew (Kylie) of England, Jacob of South Carolina, Lucas of Beardsley, and Joseph of Beardsley; one granddaughter Rylee; one soon to be born grandson; brothers: Curtis (Carol) Roark of Eveleth, MN and Galen (Connie) Roark of Rosholt, SD; sisters Paulette (Richard) Dahl of Rice, MN and Pam (Brad) Bennett of Sauk Rapids, MN; and sister-in-law Carolyn Roark of Browns Valley, MN; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; as well as great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.



George is preceded in death by his parents Dale and Faye and one brother Floyd Roark.



Larson Funeral Home in Browns Valley, MN is in charge of arrangements
