Mickey was born February 9, 1928 in Chicago, Ill to Clarence and Marie ( nee Westphal/Bakeberg) Heffernan and passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday, November 25, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Ill.
A WWII Marine Corps. Veteran, Mickey loved his family, enjoyed fishing, archery, camping, gatherings with family and friends, and was a Civil War and Native Indian history buff.
He is survived by his dear wife with whom he united in marriage June 11, 1948 in Webster, SD,
his loving children; Wallace “Skip” Heffernan, Susan (Keith) Mielke, Frances (Jerome) Preston, and Cathy (Al) Buck,
Also survived by 11 dear grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Alice (Orv) Oswood.
