A Memorial Mass for Cheryl Lynn Pozdal, age 61, of St. Williams Care Center in Milbank, will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at St. Williams Chapel in Milbank. The Reverend Dan Wolfgram will be the celebrant. Honorary urn bearers will be the ladies of Angela Hall. Sister Esther Leroux will be the active urn bearer. Burial of her cremated remains will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Milbank.
Cheryl Lynn Pozdal was born on March 30, 1947, in Cook County, Ill., the daughter of John and Helene (Zabawa) Pozdal. She was a developmentally handicapped lady who never married. Cheryl lived at the Mt. St. Joseph's Home in Lake Zurich, Illinois, under the care of the Sisters of the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence until 1997 when she transferred to Angela Hall Assisted Living in Milbank. Cheryl entered St. Williams Care Center on April 15, 2003.
Survivors include her mother, Helene A. Pozdal and her sister, Karen Davis, both of Jacksonville Beach, FL; her niece, Dr. Sharyl Truty, MD, of Chicago, IL; and her nephew, Darren Truty, Jacksonville Beach, FL; the ladies of Angela Hall in Milbank; and the Sisters of the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence in Milbank and in Lake Zurich, IL.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father.
