Charles F. Radermacher

January 20, 1931 - August 31, 2005

Charles Frank Radermacher, known as Carl, Carrot Top, Red, and my favorite, Chuck. He was born and raised near Rosen, MN, with his parents Simon and Catharine. He had six brothers and four sisters. He attended Parochial School in Rosen for eight years. He worked on the family farm until he enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 17. He served in Korea until 1952, went to Minneapolis getting a job at GMC as a truck parts runner. He worked himself up to a counter man selling parts and later as Part Manager at Allstate Peterbilt, which is known as "The Class Truck Line."

On April 30, 1955, Charles was married to Alice Wollschlager, having two daughters, Teresa and Patricia.

Charles hobbies were golfing, bowling, play cards, and hunting. His career with Allstate Peterbilt took us to many states for conventions/vacations. After the work was done there was still time to spend with family and friends, taking us from the east coast to the west coast. It was in 1984, when he was named "Allstate Peterbilt's Man of the Year" in California.

In 1996, Charles retired after 47 years living in Minneapolis. Charles and Alice sold their home and moved to Ortonville, MN. Making the move to Ortonville filled many desires. One of which was to live on the golf course and golf everyday.

It wasn't until January of 2005, that his health declined, and could only watch his 12:30 tee off senior group pass by his window on the 4th hole. 2005 was a very difficult time for Chuck. Trips to Sioux Falls, SD, were becoming a monthly journey. During the year there were special events that we were grateful Chuck was here for. In April, Alice and Chuck celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary where many family and friends attended. The Senior Golf Tournament held in July, where he played an important role behind the scenes; and the Patio Tournament in August, in which he participated for many years. This year and the years to follow, will be his spirit that will be in all who play.

His hope of a quality life gave way Wednesday, August 31, 2005, of congestive heart failure, which took him to a better place. Free of pain and freedom to breath.

Survivors include Charlie's wife Alice; two daughters Patricia, Teresa & Dana, parents of Jacob and Justin; brothers, Glenn (Liz), Neil (Donna), and Sam (Jeannie); sisters Phyllis (Joe), Doris (Adrian), Kathryn (Ron), Myra Jean.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Catharine and Simon; brothers Michael, James and Florian; brother-in-law Leonard; and sister-in-law Esther.
