Carolyn Stattelman

Funeral Services for Carolyn "Cari" Stattelman, age 66, of Clinton, MN will be held on Sunday, March 25, at 2:00 PM at Elim Lutheran Church in Clinton, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Pastor Richard Larson will be officiating and burial will be in the Clinton City Cemetery.
Carolyn Mae Stattelman was born on August 24, 1945 in Toqua Township, Big Stone County, to parents Roy and Margaret (Ewert) Carlson. She attended school in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1963.
On January 12, 1965 she was united in marriage to Jerald "Jerry" Stattelman. To this union two sons were born, Doug and Danny. Cari and Jerry made Clinton their home. They owned and operated the Penguin Bar for 25 years and Cari also worked part time for KJ's Gas Station.
Cari was involved with the Women of the Moose in Ortonville, Cambell-Williams American Legion Post 258 in Clinton, and the Red Hatters. She was very active in church activities. Above all, Cari will be remembered for her care of others, placing their needs before her own many, many times. She was a great cook and there was always an extra space at her table for anyone who entered her home! She was a fabulous grandmother and great-grandmother and always had time for her young ones. As a friend, she had an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on. Cari was a mentor to many.
Cari passed away Wednesday morning, March 21, 2012, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND. She had lived to reach the age of 66 years.
Left with her loving memory is her husband, Jerry, of Clinton; her sons: Doug (Wanda) of Clinton; Danny of Fergus Falls; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters: Jenny Bengston, Marilyn Homrighausen, and Denese Carlson; four brothers: Ronnie (Sharon) Carlson of Donnelly, MN; Robert (Judy) Carlson of Belton, TX; David Carlson (special friend Barb) of Florence, TX; and Jerry Carlson of Rogers, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her nephews: Allen Bengston, Jody Bengston, and Troy Toop; and her great nephew, Justin Peterson.
