She worked at Flanery's Meat Packing Plant in Milbank for several years until her marriage to Darwin Dockter on June 23, 1963, in Twin Brooks, SD. Following marriage, they lived on a farm south of Twin Brooks.
Carol was a farmwife and mother. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, and soon had a great number of people requesting her skills for making wedding cakes and cakes for other important celebrations.
