Brenda Powers

Brenda J. Powers died on December 26, 2017, at Fairway View Neighborhoods.

Services will be Saturday, December 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Dennis O’Neill officiating.  Visitation will take place on Friday, December 29, from 5-7 p.m. at Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will take place at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville immediately following the service.

Pat Kunz will be the organist, and the soloists will be Laura Berger and Ronda Sellin.

Casket bearers will be: Gary Dinnel, David Johnson, Doran Nagel, Gary Meyer, Randy Meyer, and Brad Meyer. Honorary bearers will be: Sharlene and Bill Lindstrum, Tracy Brock, Rebecca Olson, Nathan Powers, Emeline Olson, Wesley Olson, and the staff and residents of Fairway View Neighborhoods.

Brenda Jean Meyer was born to Robert and Mary Lou Meyer on June 4, 1964, in Ortonville, MN.   Brenda grew up in Ortonville and attended Trinity Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She attended school in Ortonville and graduated with the class of 1982. In 1983, she moved to Burnsville, MN. She worked as a daycare provider and as a maid and housekeeping supervisor in the hotel industry. She also worked at Target and Kwik Trip before moving back to Ortonville in August of 2017.

Brenda enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking and working on puzzles. Her true passion was her family. She treasured spending time with her two grandchildren: Emeline and Wesley.

Brenda is survived by her parents; Robert and Mary Lou Meyer of Ortonville, MN; brothers: James (Lori) Meyer of Fargo, ND; Daniel (Mary) Meyer of Ortonville, MN; David (Kathy) Meyer of Ortonville, MN; and John (Kristine) Meyer of Ortonville, MN; children: Rebecca Lynn (James) Olson of Faribault, MN; and Nathan (special friend Natasha) Flicek of Faribault, MN; ex-husband, Alan Powers of Faribault, MN; grandchildren: Emeline and Wesley Olson of Faribault, MN; special friends: Sharlene and Bill Lindstrum of Burnsville, MN; and Tracy Brock of Burnsville, MN; and many nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
