Blanche Rohlfs, age 96, of Corona, SD, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Fairway View Neighborhoods in Ortonville, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Corona, SD. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Pastor Arthur Drehman will officiate, and interment will be at Kilborn Lutheran Cemetery.
Blanche Lois (Morton) Rohlfs was born in rural LaBolt, SD, to Raymond and Violet (Packard) Morton. She spent her formative years in rural LaBolt where her strong roots shaped the compassionate spirit she carried throughout her life.
Blanche was united in marriage with her beloved husband, Roland Richard Rohlfs, in a beautiful double wedding ceremony on April 23, 1945, alongside Arlene Holtquist and Hubert Ferber. Together, Blanche and Roland were blessed with their three children: Larry, Dennis, and LaVonne.
For many years, Blanche called Corona, SD, her home, nurturing a friendly community around her. In 2018, she took residence in the nursing home, where she continued to share her warmth and kindness with new friends.
Blanche dedicated her professional life to serving others, working at the Red Owl and Alco stores in Milbank, and as the head cook at Corona High School.
A devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Corona, Blanche lived her faith through her actions, embodying the principles of kindness, generosity, and service to others.
Blanche is survived by her son, Larry Rohlfs of Pleasant Hill, IA; grandchildren: Brad Rohlfs, Chris Rohlfs, Craig Rohlfs, Tricia Rohlfs Jason Rohlfs, Autumn Rohlfs Tom (Kelly) Rohlfs, Jodi Herslip, and Zachary Herslip; and sisters: Betty Schultz of Corona, SD; and Myra Quade of Milbank, SD.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Roland in 1999; son, Dennis; daughter, LaVonne; her parents; sisters: Helen Seehafer, Dorothy Johnson, Clara Pederson, Mildred Pederson, and Doris Wendland; and brothers: Berton Morton, and Charles Morton.
