Bennett L. Arndt age 70 of Kenosha, WI died Tuesday morning March 15, 2011 at the Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, WI.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday March 21, 2011 at the Larson Funeral Home, 401 2nd St NW, Ortonville, MN. Visitation will be from 10AM until time of services. Pastor Marlene Elmstrom will be officiating. Interment will be in Clinton Cemetery, Clinton, MN.
Bennett Lee Arndt was born on February 7, 1941 in Clinton, MN the son of the late Robert John and Gladys Josephine Jacobson Arndt. On November 26, 1973 in Lake County, IL, he was united in marriage to Margaret Bunge.
Bennett served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years retiring in July of 1988. During his career, he earned the Fourth Good Conduct Award for period ending Feb. 28, 1985, Third Navy Achievement Medal, Second Meritorious Unit Commendation, Second Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy "E" ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He also was a real estate agent for Baird Warner Realty.
He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed running and walking.
Bennett is survicved by: his wife Margaret; 3 children-Rodney L. Arndt of Antioch, IL, Destry V. (Kari) Arndt of Lake in the Hills, IL and Amanda J. (Adam Jarr) Arndt of Twin Lakes, WI; 4 stepchildren-Diana (Rob) Wilson of Bristol, WI, James (Michelle) Tentes of Salem, WI, Jeri L. (Dave) Erickson of Mundelein, IL and David (Karen) Karas of Salem, WI; 13 Grandchildren, 1 Gr. Grandchild; 6 siblings-Dale (Marlene) Arndt of Breckenridge, MN, Faye Tischer of Beaver Dam, WI, Janet (John) Maleck of Belvidere, IL, Barbara Wellnitz of Milbank, SD, Robert (Carol) Arndt of Wilmot, SD and Murray (Deborah) Arndt of Virginia Beach, VA.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother-Bradley Arndt, niece-Brenda Nelson and nephew James Lund.
Memorial remembrances may be made to the Arndt Family.
