Barbetta Welch

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbetta B. Welch, age 73, of Milbank, will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the Parkview United Methodist Church in Milbank. The Reverend Beth Conrad will officiate. Mrs. Welch died on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The organist will be Sheila Dailie and the soloist will be Deb Rausch. Family members are asked to meet in the church fireside room by 10:30 a.m. Saturday to attend services. Visitation will be at the Emanuel-Patterson Funeral Home in Milbank on Friday from 4-6 p.m. and in the church Saturday one hour before services. Pallbearers will be Jeff Taylor, John Trevett, Steve Mogard, Mike McKernan, Malcolm Dirksen, and Roger Goosen. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.
Barbetta was born on July 4, 1934, at Kimball, Nebraska, the daughter of Glenn and Flora (Knott) Beale. She graduated from high school in Kimball, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to William P. Welch on December 30, 1956, in Potter, NE. Following Bill's honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, they farmed in the Potter, NE, area. In 1977 they moved to Milbank.
Barbetta was a member of the Parkview United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her two sons, Jeff Welch and wife Pat, Potter, NE, and Vance Welch, Bemidji, MN; seven grandchildren; her daughter, Kaye Davis and husband Lynn, of Texas; and daughter-in-law, Lori Welch, Bemidji, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill on Feb. 1, 2005, her son Dallas A. Welch, and one nephew.
