Larson Funeral Home announces the death of Audrey Bender, age 93 of Ortonville, formerly of Clinton. Audrey passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Northridge Residence in Ortonville. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Clinton United Methodist Church in Clinton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Sunday. Rev. Darrell Boe will be officiating. Burial will be at Clinton City Cemetery in Clinton.
Audrey Beaty was born on January 19, 1918 in Clinton, MN to parents Ray and Nellie (Nelson) Beaty. She grew up in the Clinton area and graduated from high school in 1936. After graduation, she stayed in Clinton and married Ralph Bender. They were married for 37 years until Ralph died in 1978. Audrey spent many years working at the grocery store in Clinton.
In 1988, Audrey started spending time with a very special friend and companion, Robert "Bob" Stotesbery. For years they enjoyed meeting with friends, dancing, traveling and camping together. She also had fond memories of time at West McDonald Lake with her family. You could always see a smile on her face.
Audrey remained in Clinton until November 2006 when she moved into Fairway View Assisted Living in Ortonville. She then moved to Northridge Residence in 2007 where she lived until she passed away on May 11, 2011.
Audrey is survived by her daughter Nona (Gary) King of Dent, MN; two granddaughters: Tammy (Brad) Fitzgerald of Sabin, MN and Deborah (Barry) Schmiess of Fargo, ND; four great-grandchildren: Ryan, Meghan, Kelsie and Brady; one sister Sally (Leon) Demars of Ajo, AZ; and one brother Jerry (Carol) Beaty of Coarsegold, CA.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Bender, who died on June 21, 1978; special friend and companion Robert Stotesbery on March 21, 1998; three sisters: Olive Hecomovich, Ruth Gothan and Susan Wilson; and one brother Fred Beaty.
