Arthur Hillman

Arthur Reinhardt Lehardt Hillman was born on August 21, 1929 to parents Herman and Louise (Vietzke) Hillman, near Nassau, Minnesota. Most of his childhood days were spent on a farm northeast of Ortonville, MN. Arthur was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Nassau, MN on September 08, 1929 and confirmed on July 09, 1944 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN.
On September 07, 1952 Arthur was united in marriage to Rita Praulins. They started their married life on a farm east of Ortonville, and to this union three sons were born, Gary, Duane, and Kenneth.
Art was an active farmer until 1992, when he suffered a heart attack. Over the years, Parkinson's disease also took a toll on his life. Along with farming, Art enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, trapping, woodworking, camping, and spending time with his family and many friends.
Art was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville for many years, serving as an Elder, and taking part in many church activities.
On Sunday, March 20, 2005, Arthur passed away at the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 30 days.
Survivors include Arthur's wife, Rita Hillman, sons Gary and Laurie (Torgerson), Duane and Mary (Berkner), and Kenneth and Nancy (Danielson), all of Odessa, MN; one brother, Clarence and Florence (Hinneberg) Hillman; two sisters, Carolyn Zahn, and Leona and Alfred Zahn, all of Odessa, MN. Grandchildren, Amy and Jason Haas of Odessa, MN, Bryan of Peoria IL, Amanda of Van Couver, WA, Anthony, Derek, Travis, Rebecca, and Brandon, all of Odessa, MN; and Great Grandchildren, Austin and Ashley Haas; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Art was preceded in death by his parents.
