Arlyn Keith Sparby was born September 23, 1947, to Edwin and Esperance (Green) Sparby in Watertown, MN. Arlyn was dedicated to the Lord in Hibbing, MN and was confirmed at the Methodist Church in Clinton, MN. Arlyn attended grade school in Hibbing, MN and attended and graduated from high school in Clinton, MN.
Arlyn was united in marriage to Colleen “Toni” McAllister on August 19, 2006 in Gillette, WY. Arlyn worked as a coal miner at Foundation Coal in Gillette until his retirement in January of 2006. Shortly after his retirement, Arlyn and Toni moved to the Graceville area.
Arlyn enlisted into the Army in 1967 and served in the Vietnam War. One of Arlyn’s favorite hobbies was fishing. Arlyn also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Arlyn died unexpectedly on September 7, 2008, at the age of 60 years and 11months.
Private family services will be held.
Arlyn is survived by his wife, Toni Sparby of Graceville, MN; children, Nikki (Robbie) Burtsfield of Gillette, WY, and Shane Sparby of Gillette, WY; grandchildren, Amara Thomas, Trypp Burtsfield, Brook and Baylie Sparby; his first wife and the mother of his children, Colette Homrighausen Sparby; siblings, Marianne Garmaker of Beardsley, MN, Doug (Vaunee) Sparby of Red Wing, MN, Marilyn (Dennis) Stotesbery of Beardsley, MN, Marlene (David) Alberts of Clinton, MN, and Charlie (Dawn) Sparby of Clarissa, MN; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends who loved him very much.
Arlyn is preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Chad Sparby.
