Ardith Hegge

Ardith Hegge, age 75, died May 31, 2018, at Ortonville Area Health Service Hospital.

A graveside service for Ardith will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the Clinton Cemetery.  Rev. Ailsa Odom will officiate.

Ardith Elsie (Biel) Hegge was born on February, 25, 1943, in Sisseton, SD, to Raymond and Victoria (Darrington) Biel. She was raised on the family's farm near Wilmot, SD.  She attended country school until eighth grade and high school in Wilmot where she graduated in 1962.  She moved to Minneapolis after graduation to work in the clerical department of Marquette Bank.  In 1968, she moved back to the family farm where she could have her pets and grow her garden and flowers.  She worked at several jobs in the area, including: working as a cook, sewing quilts, and at a cannery.

Ardith married Donald Hegge on August 27, 1977.  They lived in Clinton, MN, for 10 years before moving to Minneapolis.  In 2006, they moved back to Clinton to retire.

Ardith had many hobbies that she enjoyed.  She loved to tend her garden and flowers.  She and Don enjoyed traveling to scenic areas around Minnesota and South Dakota.  Ardith made friends easily and enjoyed visiting over coffee.  She loved her family and opened her door to those who needed help or just to visit.  She loved her cats and had several beloved pets over the years.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Birchem of Wahpeton, ND; niece, Kelly Birchem of Fargo, ND; and nephews, Kraig and George Birchem of Hankinson, ND.

Ardith was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; and her brother, Raymond Biel.
