Funeral services for Anna Marohl, age 77, of Appleton, MN, and formerly of Big Stone City, Twin Brooks, and Corona, South Dakota, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Alban Township, Grant County, SD. Reverend Larry Johnson will officiate. Mrs. Marohl died on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, in the Appleton Hospital, Appleton, MN. The organist will be Carol Angerhofer. Visitation will be at the Emanuel-Patterson Funeral Home in Milbank on Friday, March 30, from 5-7 p.m. and in the church Saturday one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clemens Marohl, Clifford Marohl, Eugene Marohl, Cody Kelly, Loren Koopman, and John Koopman.
Mrs. Marohl was born on July 23, 1929, in Vernon Township, Grant County, SD, the youngest of nine children. She was the daughter of William and Anna (Fenner) Loeschke. Anna was united in marriage to Elmer Marohl on June 6, 1951, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Alban Township. Following marriage, the couple resided in Big Stone City until 1965. They then moved to a farm near Twin Brooks and resided there until 1977. They moved back to Big Stone City and lived there until 1980. They then moved to a farm site near Corona and lived there until 1990. They lived at Artichoke Lake until 1996 when they moved to the Pleasantview Apts. in Appleton, MN. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker her entire life.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in law, Clemens and Kaye, Artichoke Lake, MN; Eugene and Julie, Watson, MN; and Clifford and Gina, Pierpont, SD; two daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and Cody Kelly and Gloria and Loren Koopman, of Milbank; thirteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one sister, Lillian Ninneman, Ortonville, MN; her sister-in-law, Ruth Loeschke, rural Milbank; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Karl, Earl, and Harry Loeschke; and four sisters, Clara Angerhofer, Alma Schweer, Hilda Brehmer, and Alice Verhelst.
